Behind a closed door, she sat and wept.
He came to lift her; on his shoulder, she found rest.
With her back against the door,
She'd finally found a comforter.
She whispered forevermore,
As they held hand in hand to walk together.
But as the door creaked open wide,
She coldly pushed him aside.
With sudden joy, she stepped forward alone,
But when she reached the threshold's stone,
The door slammed shut-too late, she turned around,
And he was nowhere to be found.
